Below is every section of the Fraud Centre, in the order it is planned. Sections marked Live are open now; sections marked Coming soon are on the roadmap and stay unlinked until they ship — a couple already exist today under a different name, noted on their card.
Not “Coming soon” — real content, rewritten so your mom and your shopkeeper bhaiya both understand it. Each guide below is the full 2-minute read; a dedicated page for each is next up, so nothing here links out to a 404 yet.

First Hour: What to do after fraud
Call 1930 in 60min — golden hour. Step-by-step with script.
Money gone at 7:42pm? The first hour matters most — banks can still freeze the receiving account if you call 1930 within 60 minutes. After that, you still have a 5-day window for a bank chargeback, just a lower chance of reversal.
Hello, I lost Rs 3,400 at 7:42pm on 12 Dec UPI ID: shop@upi UTR: 1234...

Helplines: 1930, cybercrime.gov.in, Banks
All numbers verified. Bank-wise chargeback window.
1930 is the free, 24x7 national cybercrime helpline. cybercrime.gov.in gives you a complaint ID you can track. Most banks (SBI, HDFC, ICICI) run a 3-5 day chargeback window from the transaction date. No one — bank, police, or "agent" — can recover money from you by charging a fee.

Shopkeeper checklist — 5 checks before delivery
SMS > Screenshot, speaker on, Rs 5000+ double-check.
Don't trust a screenshot — wait for your own bank SMS or a speaker-box beep. Above Rs 5,000, open your banking app and check the balance directly before handing over goods; a screenshot can be edited on any phone in seconds.
SMS from bank ID, not a +91 number
Speaker on loud — wait for the beep
Above Rs 5,000 — check the balance app

Sources: L1 RBI, L2 NPCI, L3 Media
Our methodology — why we never merge scores. Trust doc.
L1 is RBI/Parliament official incidence — authoritative, but lagging by months. L2 is live NPCI/RBI/CERT-In advisories — what regulators say is happening right now. L3 is our own pattern taxonomy from community reports — attention-only, not a verified count. The three are never merged into one score.

Deep Dive: Fake Screenshot Fraud
How scammers edit, how to detect in 3 seconds. With examples.
Side-by-side, fake vs real: a real bank SMS has an alphanumeric sender ID like VM-HDFCBK and your balance actually moves. A faked one is sent from an ordinary +91 number and the balance stays "???" because nothing was ever credited.

Bangalore UPI Fraud Map — 7-9pm rush
Koramangala, Indiranagar pattern. Shopkeepers most hit.
Reports cluster hard in the 7-9pm rush — average loss around Rs 3,400, fake-screenshot the trick in most cases, shopkeepers the most common target. Delivery pressure at closing time is exactly when the SMS check gets skipped.

QR Collect Request Explained
Why scanning QR = paying. Real vs fake collect flow.
Scanning a QR code always means you're paying, never receiving. If your UPI PIN is asked to receive money, that's the fraud — a real payment only ever needs your PIN to send. NPCI discontinued P2P collect requests from 1 October 2025 specifically to close this trick.
QR arrow OUT = you pay
PIN to RECEIVE = fraud

OLX / Marketplace Scam Playbook
Army person, pay advance — pattern library.
"Army personnel posted from Jammu, will pay advance via UPI" — then a QR collect request arrives, or a link asking for a "token" payment. Real defence personnel never transact this way; treat any advance-payment-via-UPI-link pitch on a marketplace listing as a scam.

Mumbai: Screen-share + APK spike
Suburban fraud up — AnyDesk pattern in Andheri.
Caller claims a "bank KYC update" and asks you to install AnyDesk or an APK, then watches your screen as you enter your PIN — no OTP is ever "given away", it is simply watched. No bank ever asks for screen-share access.

NEED HELP RIGHT NOW?
Money just gone? Act in 60 minutes.
Call the national cybercrime helpline 1930 or report at cybercrime.gov.in within the first hour for the best chance of a reversal. Or turn what happened into a finished complaint with the complaint generator.
We never ask for a fee. No recovery agents. 1930 is a free, 24×7 government number.
Is it safe to generate a UPI payment link or QR code in the browser?
Yes — the Payment Link Generator and QR Code Generator build the upi://pay link and QR entirely on your device. Nothing is sent to a server, there is no login, and no payment passes through Toolsda; the link just hands off to your UPI app.
How do I spot a fake or scam UPI QR code?
The most common trap is a QR that looks like it will pay you but is actually a collect request, or one whose payee name doesn't match who you're dealing with. The UPI ID & QR Code Safety Checker parses any UPI ID, link or QR and flags mismatched handles and collect-request patterns before you approve anything.
What are UPI transaction limits?
NPCI sets an overall per-transaction ceiling, but each bank and app can set tighter daily and per-transaction caps on top of it — so the real number depends on your bank and app, not just UPI. The Limit Checker breaks this down app by app; Rs 1 lakh/day is the NPCI maximum, but your bank can and often does set it lower.
My UPI payment failed but the money was debited — what should I do?
Most failed debits auto-reverse within your bank's published window, typically a day or two. If it doesn't, raise a dispute from the transaction in your UPI app or with your bank using the UTR — keep the UTR and timestamp handy either way.
